B U F S Amazing! READ ME! DO IT! Do It.

Good Morrow Everyone,

We hope that midterms have not been too bad yet and hey spring break is only a week and a half away.  Boys gone wild!

Now for the good shtuff. (in order of appearance)

It is not what we take up, but what we give up, that makes us rich.

In lieu of regular family dinner we will be having family dinner at the Howard Thurman Center, and will be watching a short film entitled "Silent Sacrifices" a story about Filipino-American culture.  Afterwards we will have a discussion, just so we can have some SUBSTANCE, for our family dinner.  And by substance I mean FREE PIZZA! But no really this will be a good time to get together and really talk about something we can all relate to.  SO 630 HOWARD THURMAN CENTER TOMORROW!

GGGGGGawad Kalinga

This THURSDAY we will be honored by having Tony Meloto come to Boston University and speak to us.  Mr. Meloto is the founder of GK BUFSA's service project where people build character and communities for themselves. He is an amzaing man that started this great organization to bring hope and light to those who need it. It is this THURSDAY from 5-630 at the GSU conferance auditorium on the second floor.

BUFSA has got talent!

Save the date on MAR 20 BUFSA and possibly D1 will be holding a talent show.  So if you have some moves, some music anything please shoot us an email so we can showcase your amazingness.

EEEEEEEHSAHHHHHH! THE WORLD IS AMAZING!

Remember our cultural show is on APRIL 18th so save the date.  If you want to help out, and please you are encouraged to, please join our various ISA committees.

DANCE PRACTICE REMINDERS
If you signed up for a dance please be at the assigned time and place on time.
Stand by for an email from our DC's about practice this weekend.
Also it is a REQUIREMENT for everyone to dance a traditional dance if you want to dance a modern (No exceptions) there are a lot of great traditional dances we are having so please sign up for one by contacting the DC's.
Last thing STICK DUTY, yes it sucks, but we have all done it, actually we haven't because people are not doing it.  Think of it as a right of passage for FSA dance dance, because everyone that has come before you has one time or another had to awkwardly carry the sticks to practice. So please if you are assigned do not forget.

T-SHIRTS
As customary we will be making T-shirts for ISA, and the design is open to the club so if you got some skillz making T's (or belly shirts) send us your design.

ITNRAMRUALS! <--(Interesting fact: the brain reads words as a whole not by letter so as long as you keep the first and last letters the same you can still easily read the scrambled word, tahts cazry rhigt!)

LBFW won their last basketball game last night, thanks to stellar playing and amazing coaching!  Our next basketball game is MAR 2 at 9PM, so if you want to cheer us on to victory, it is at FITREC 2nd Floor.

SOFTBALL(s) is starting and our first game is Mar 5 at 630 at Nickerson Field.  We welcome anyone to come and play because we could always use them.  So if you are interested shoot us an email and get ready to get big.

GOODIES GOODIES, FSA GOODIES

Good Afternoon Boofs!

We are officially three weeks deep into ISA practices and things are just getting warmed up! In addition to an amazing lineup of traditional and modern dances this week, we've also created an official BUFSA Youtube channel! We uploaded some of the dances (and are in the process of uploading the rest) so if you happened to miss a practice or want to practice on your own, now you can see them all online! To keep our sets a surprise for ISA, we made them private (we can't share videos privately with more than 25 people, boo) but if you text/email/call/stalk us we'll gladly give you the password.

IF YOU'RE ON YOUTUBE, FRIEND US! :)

Saturday, Feb. 21st @ Warren Cinema Room (12-4 pm), Dance Studio (4-6 pm)
12-1 pm - Kuratsa (Christian Rivera)
1-2 pm - Lumagen (Carlo Dumandan & John Prestosa)

3-4 pm - Singkil (Christian Rivera)
